Excellent way to get to know the history and culture of Santiago as well as meet other like minded travellers.
This is a very political tour. Not much information on the history or origins of Santiago. I didn’t hear anything about how the city was formed or why it was the way it is today. It felt like the guide was going on a biased political rant for most of the tour expressing his personal views. The entire tour felt very polarized as it was often shared left or right wing. There was a few good stops which shared the history of the military coup and we got to take the subway. The last stop about the UN building was interesting and I would not have known to go without the guide. Guide was able to answer all our questions and gave a few good stories. I would go again but prepare myself to listen to lots of politics in advance.
One of my tours of the city was cancelled so I did this last minute. It was well worth it. The guides English was good. He conveyed great information about the city and Chile in general. The markets were cool and you can go eat food from different South American nationalities. The cemetery at the end is basically an open air museum and interesting to see.
