Hello, I am Candelaria, I was born a traveller, it is in my genes, my first plane ride was at 9 days old. I first came to Morocco in 1987 as a young backpacker. It definitively made a huge impression on me, but I never imagined I would end up living here. Chaouen is my home since 2004. I will be delighted to show you around town, and hopefully you will understand why Chefchaouen is so special, way beyond its famous blue walls. I have learnt that people enjoy seeing Chaouen through my eyes, a foreigner very well adapted to a culture so different to my own. I speak Spanish, English, French, Italian, Arabic and Portuguese and have lived in many countries. I love good food, nature and hospitality, which are the reasons why I do this. I own a small guest house (Riad Jibli) which keeps me busy, my life is quite simple in this sweet town.
Candelaria was a wonderful tour guide. We went on her tour on our second day in Chefchaouen and prior to meeting her we weren't keen on the place felt it was too touristy and with too many souvenir shops. She showed us a completely different side to the area and we ended up loving Chefchaouen. She was also kind enough to share her own garden and home with us. Thanks again we really enjoyed your tour
I just liked her style - relaxed and friendly. Lot of information of history and today. We did see so much beauty, that I was almost wordless - waterfalls, quiet streets of local people, so so beautiful streets and view places. Ordinary people doing their work, even her own home. She did noticed that we were not shoppers, so we didn't go to shops. But I'm sure she find and show whatever you want. Also get tips of places to eat.
