Worth your time with Roy.
It was a hot day and place was crowded.
Roy managed a nice pace.
Combining history lesson, time for pictures… Roy made things flow well.
Roy shared many history of the origins of the the palace;, when and how it all started. Very interesting. He’s able to share the little details which we would have missed or not known.
We ended the walk near the artificial man made lake. Roy gave lots of tips on what to eat or what to do next.
This walk by Roy is highly recommended. For those foreigners who don’t speak Chinese, I could vouch for Roy’s English proficiency; his diction, pronunciation…

Worth the time with Roy.
We started at the new refreshed section before proceeding to the older sections of the hutongs.
Roy shared many history of the origins of the hutongs, when and how it all started. Very interesting. He’s able to share the little details which we would have missed or not known.
We ended the walk near the lake - HouHai. Roy gave lots of tips on what to eat or what to do next.

Roy was terrific! His knowledge about Chinese history is amazing, he told me a lot of anecdotes about the dynasties which gave much more color to my learning. His English is really good.

Information was good. Some of it was repetitive if you did the other tours. You can do this tour on your own, you're mainly walking through the area and hearing some information. If you have extra time and want to meet a group of people to learn some history with its cool to do.

Loved the tour. We have travelled in Japan and China and went to loads of free tours. This was one of the best with appropriate and interesting information. Would fully recommend to anybody!!
