I never write reviews but this is the least I could do as a thank you to Ivan, so you know this is 100% honest and quite special. My partner and I usually go for the most popular options on Guru but we were tired of the generic overcrowded tours. Opting for Ivan’s was easily one of the best decisions we’ve made on our two week long trip, especially when we didn’t have much time in Split and we both got too invested in the history of the Balkan countries. We were lucky to have him all to ourselves for 1.5 hours, and everything the other reviewers said was true: Ivan is a wonderful guide, a knowledgeable native of Split city, and also a very patient teacher. We’re more than happy to recommend this tour to anyone :). Thank you!

Ivan is a fantastic guide. His English is excellent and he even spoke a little German for my cousin who was with me during the tour. We were really lucky to have been the only people on the tour and we learned alot about the history of Split. Highly recommend this guide!

Ivan’s tour was fantastic! Just what we were looking for and hoping to have: a very knowledgeable guide with great personality and presentation. It is our habit to seek out a walking tour in the places we visit. We have developed a preference for small groups led by a historian or at least someone very familiar with the local history. Ivan was perfect. His presentation was clear, organized, coherent (which can be tricky with all the various rulers and peoples governing Split over all these centuries). He explained misconceptions, gave additional information and answered questions knowledgeablely and acknowledged when he didn’t know an answer. We were so disappointed that he was off the day we wanted to book a tour with him when our sister came to town. We would all recommend Ivan as a guide in a heartbeat!
