About the tour

World War II was the biggest tragedy in Wrocław in its 1000 year history. The city changed completely. The last days of German Wrocław were marked by the name of Festung Breslau (Wrocław Fortress), as the city defended itself against the Soviet army. The city was not conquered until the end of the war, defended until the last drop of blood, sacrificed on the altar of Nazi propaganda. The capitulation of Breslau was signed on May 6, 1945, four days later to that of Berlin. During the World War II and Wroclaw tour, you will also discover more than 800 years of the history of the Jewish community in the city. A story about the search for identity and happiness. The Jews had a great impact on the development of the city. It is impossible to describe modern Judaism without the rabbis of Wrocław, such as Abraham Geiger or Zacharias Frankel. In addition, you will discover how the Jewish settlement in the suburbs became the most lively area of Wrocław.

Muy interesante y completo. No sólo explica cosas relacionadas con la Breslavia judía sino que añade otras curiosidades de la ciudad que lo hacen aún más interesante.

We had a great time with Matt, eventhough the topic of this walk was rather sad, he managed to always include some funny little informations and some happy-ending stories. Most important, we learned a lot about the history of Wroclaw. Highly recommended
