I work with IT since 15 yo. I have being in Santiago since early 2.018. I’m fluent in english. I usually enjoy talking about technology, politics, economics, philosophy, nature, culture.
Goal of the tour: to know Santiago from an Average Joe point of view, this is not a pro tour and neither I’m a pro guide, is just a bunch of common places from a common Chilean point of view, we will take public transportation, ride rented bycicles, nothing fancy at all.
10:00 AM. First we start with my all time favorite coffe, near one of the Santiago’s main metro stations: Baquedano.
10:30 AM. I carry some extra public transportation cards, we will take a public bus that is going to border the famous Mapocho river to visit one of the most crowded and usual places of a chilean in Santiago on weekend mornings: La Vega Free Market. Here you will find almost anything from fresh fruits, local food and drinks, to used hardware. This place is far from elegant and not the safest place to be in Santiago, so, better avoid to bring expensive things here.
11:15 AM. We will take the Metro from Cal y Canto station to Cementerios station.
11:45 M. After the noisy and crowded free market we will head to a nearby and famous graveyard, a quiet place full of threes and curious graves.
13:00 PM. We will take a look at Bellas Artes, which is full of artists, pubs, coffees and restaurants, and finally lunch at one of the most curious and finely ranked places in Tripadvisor.
I’m OK with lending my public transportation cards (I have 3 BIP! Cards), but these expenses are on each own. Each metro or bus ride is about 1 USD. Food usually ranges from 6 to 13 USD per person.
I’m not charging anything for my services, but it’s OK if you want to tip.

Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
