Free Tours Kiev is a private initiative run by young guides and volunteers in love with Kyiv. It is one of the easiest and most interesting ways to tour Kyiv!
Since its foundation as the cave monastery in 1051 the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has been a preeminent center of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe.
It is inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery complex is considered a separate national historic-cultural preserve.
While being a cultural attraction, the monastery is once again active, with over 100 monks in residence.
It was named one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine in 2007.
The tour covers the areas around Lavra Monastery: The Park of Internal Glory, Holodomor monument, Motherland Statue, and Kyiv Pechersk Lavra views!
Our Meeting Point: Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in front of the Central Post Office by the Monument with the Globe (small Stella with Globe on it). Our guide will be waiting for you with a white umbrella and great mood :)
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
