I’f you want a journey into Welsh history and heritage - this is the tour for you! Mining and Mountains ❤️ This tour begins in Pontypridd, a riverside town at the heart of the Rhondda Valleys. We begin with a tour of Pontypridd, for the busy day ahead, we will stop for breakfast before catching a local bus to Rhondda heritage park, where you can learn about the reality of life in mines for Welsh miners and how coal shaped the valleys and changed it forever. We then go on a quick stop to the bustling town of Treorchy which won the best U.K. high street award 2019. Treorchy has a fascinating and musical history going back over 100 years. . We then take the train or bus (according to your wish and budget) to the small Welsh village of Blaencwm/Blaenrhondda where we will go on a walk up the mountain called Pen Pych, where you can see horses, beautiful forest and from the top - and incredible view of the entire valley. Tours can be adjusted to your needs. The Mining and mountains tour will take a whole day. Sensible shoes required and tours are subject to weather conditions. Mining and Iron lords. We meet in Pontypridd at the entrance to the train station and make our way to Trehafod by train or bus to go to Rhondda heritage park and discover what life was like for people of the valleys during the coal boom. We then travel by bus to Aberfan, to visit the memorial to the many children and people who died in one of Wales worst mining disasters. We then get another bus and make our way to Cyfarthfa castle near Merthyr Tydfil, an impressive mansion built in 1824 which now holds beautiful gardens, art and fascinating architecture. When both tours finish, I can accompany you to get direct trains back to Cardiff l. Local daily bus ticket is required, but not included. I can help you purchase the right ticket.
