Tripcantabria is an organization of tourist visits in Cantabria. Always, complying with the regulations in force in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria: Official Guides. They are intended for ALL PUBLIC. We do not know who will accompany us every day, tastes, profession or affinities. Therefore, we try to make the information enjoyable and diverse without going into depth in aspects that can "disconnect" part of the group. Above all, we seek to generate memories that will last after your stay in Santander.
We will understand the process by which a fishing village becomes one of the most important centers of power of the 19th century in Spain and a summer resort for some of the richest families in the country. Did you know that Comillas was the capital of Spain and a royal residence, if Gaudí was actually in Comillas or why Comillas is known as the Villa of the Archbishops? From the starting point we will head towards the Campa de Sobrellano, where we will appreciate some of the most unique architectural complexes in Comillas, such as the Capricho de Gaudí, one of his main works of youth outside Catalonia or the Palacio de Sobrellano, the great palace built by the Marquis in his native Comillas. From there we will leave for the area of the Pontifical University, where the best modernist architects of the time left their mark and origin of the current Comillas Pontifical University. Due to its opening, there were times when Comillas had almost more seminarians than population, which has marked this fishing village. We will take the opportunity to also get to know the Old Cemetery, a real gem for its location on the seashore and which keeps the history of the ex-commune of Comillas. We will also learn about unique characters, town festivals, gastronomy or fun anecdotes. Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
