We will visit the most touristic part, perhaps, the best known or renowned: El Sardinero and the Palacio de La Magdalena. The beaches of El Sardinero acquired their fame as a summer resort for the royal family, Alfonso XIII between the years 1913 and 1930. During those years the life of the great businessmen and nobles of Spain passed in this area, in the summer months. It is a visit to walk and enjoy some wonderful landscapes. We started at the “First” beach in El sardinero: “without a doubt, the most iconic in Santander, since the nobility and the bourgeoisie used to go there. The "Second" was reserved for the common people. We will walk through the gardens of Piquío that separate the "first" from the "second" beach. A balcony surrounded by pergolas as a vegetable tunnel, from which incredible views of the two beaches of El Sardinero are observed, as well as the Island of Mouro, the lighthouse of Cabo Menor, the La Magdalena peninsula and the Mataleñas Park . In this area, there are buildings that witnessed that era of the royal summer holidays, villas built by the richest for their summer holidays near the King. Period hotels such as El Sardinero, Paris, Hoyuela. And, especially the Gran Casino de El Sardinero that we will visit briefly inside, with “its classic lines make it a clear example of the Belle Époque. Continuing along the beautiful Avenida de Reina Victoria, we approach the La Magdalena Peninsula, where the Royal Palace of La Magdalena is located. On this walk to the Peninsula we will be able to admire the Mouro Island, with its lighthouse, built in 1858. As soon as we enter the Peninsula we already enjoy a place full of nature, sea and forest, which begins to make us understand why the Kings enjoyed both of his summers in this part of Santander. At the entrance we pass through the Marine Park, built outdoors taking advantage of the cliff rock and the entrance of the sea water and where you can see seals, sea lions and penguins. Nearby are the Royal Stables, "with its unmistakable English style" inspired by the pavilions of Queen Victoria Eugenia's residence on the Isle of Wight. And finally, after a beautiful scenic walk, we will arrive at La Magdalena Palace. It has great historical value for being the summer residence of the kings Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia for seventeen years, as well as for being the main venue for the summer courses at the Menéndez Pelayo International University since 1933. The Palacio de La Magdalena is , without a doubt, one of the tourist references in the city. The visit will end at the Palacio de La Magdalena. A visit to the interior of the Palace is not included
