Welcome to El Calafate, the national capital Los Glaciares !!! We are a group of professional tour guides, enthusiasts, passionate about the history of the place, its people and the nature that surrounds us. We enjoy reliving the story through stories, anecdotes, and curiosities in a very dynamic and entertaining way. The Calafate walking tour staff is made up of four guides; Iris and Yanira, both born in Patagonia, who like to sympathetically share local customs and experiences; Brenda and Marcelo have extensive experience with over twenty years living and working in Patagonia, who transmit their deep knowledge in a clear and expeditious way. We wait for you to live a unique and unforgettable adventure and join us in this initiative of enhancing, promoting and preserving our cultural and historical heritage.
The town of El Calafate is located on the shores of Lake Argentino and close to the Andes, and offers natural access to Los Glaciares National Park and the imposing Perito Moreno Glacier. We invite you to be the protagonists of our hike and thus learn something about the authentic history and transformation that this beginning city has undergone over the years. Start the tour of the old royal wool street, now our main street, then observe the first buildings with their traditional architecture that lead us to discover the historical center that survives the passage of time and imagine life of the brave and persevering pioneers before that, this city in southern Argentina forged and witnessed the great change that this place has undergone, turning it into one of the most important tourist villages in Patagonia. Do not miss this precious opportunity, go through the corners that go unnoticed and rich in anecdotes and complement this visit with the best tips on Patagonian gastronomy and additional activities that can be done in the El Calafate area.
