Free walking tour of Valencia through its history

Discover the history of the city in the funniest way. From the foundation of the Romans to the contemporary era. Visit the hidden corners of the city and the most important monuments of the historic center. We will start the tour in the town hall square, in front of the post office. Here we will explain the history surrounding the square and its buildings and a brief explanation of what we will do. Then we will begin the visit by talking about the origin of the city founded by the Romans. We will walk along the ancient Roman road, Via Augusta to the Duomo, where we will retrace the medieval history of the city. We will review the different architectural styles of the Cathedral and walk through the Barrio del Carmen where we will discover the ancient Arab walls until we find the subsequent Christian walls and the Torres de Serrano, the ancient city gate. We will retrace our steps to find corners of the neighborhood and discover anecdotes and curiosities of the city. We will cross the Lonja de la Seda and the Central Market. The visit will continue through the Silk Museum and the old hospital, which was the first mental health hospital in Europe. The visit will end at the North Station, near the town hall square.
