Tour description

Blue city tour in the offbeat part of town.
To feel the culture and unseen blue city which gives you positive vibes and town
The city is dominated by Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive and interesting forts in all of Rajasthan. Below the fort, the markets of Jodhpur are vibrant and chaotic; reflecting not just the multicultural composition of its people but also Jodhpur's long history as a trading centre.
I am a local who grew up around here and this means you can explore off-beaten parts of the city with me. So I welcome you to discover the culture of my home city in a very special way.

    Blue City

In the city of Jodhpur, a sea of boxy indigo houses stretches for more than 10 kilometers along the walls of the historic walled old city. A blue pigment coating on a house used to indicate that a Brahmin—the priests of the Indian caste system—dwelled there, but over time the color became a badge of identity for non-Brahmins, too. It’s also said to have insect-repelling abilities.

  • 2
    Outside visit
    Clock Tower Road

The clock tower is a popular landmark in the old city. The vibrant Sardar Market is close to the tower, and narrow alleys lead from here to a bazaar selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts. It is a great place to ramble around at leisure.

  • 3

What an informative and interesting tour! Ravi was so well informed and, even though this isn't a food tour, he bought us so many street snacks and introduced us to do many things we hadn't tried yet! He has such a great, calming demeanor and really goes at your pace. We really can't recommend this guru highly enough. Thank you so much for the best day we had in jodhpur, thanks to you!!.

Had a very good walking tour with Ravindra, he took me to lots of non-touristy spots and hidden gems in the blue city and was very helpful with information on things to do and reputable shops. As a solo female traveller I felt very comfortable on the tour and would recommend.

The tour with Ravindra was very great! we got to see the beautiful blue streets of jodhpurs and the many interesting stories and facts behind the city. Ravindra also showed us some hidden places to get sweets and tea which was very nice. Ravindra was also very kind to wait for me, even though I was arriving by bus in the morning. Can highly recommend!

I was really liked the guide's approach to history and culture of the city and the region using everyday objects, showing us and giving us a taste of a local's life. He was super patient and we felt free to linger on, ask more questions about certain things - it was a really informative and interesting walk! thank you
