Tour description

Unique free walking tour explaining the why’s, where’s and who’s of the English civil war and explaining why it’s still very relevant today!

  • How did the Restoration happen? 


The tour lasts approximately 75-90 minutes, starting at Temple tube station with stops at Victoria Embankment Gardens, Whitehall Gardens, Westminster Palace, Banqueting House, and finishing at Trafalgar Square (1.8 miles walking distance).

It is a great historic tour, very immersive even though not a lot of sights directly related to the English Civil Was are located in London. Somehow, I was mostly impressed/terrified/mesmerized by the idea that twice every day on my way to and from the office I pass below the Banqueting House on Whitehall, where at the first floor level they built the scaffold and beheaded Charles I in January 1649. Thank you very much, Ben!
