Hi! My name is Peniel, but you can also call me Penny :) So you're coming to Frankfurt? Welcome! I grew up in this city and I'm happy to show you all the wonderful things I love about it. After graduating from high school, I traveled the world for a year and discovered the concept of the walking tour. I think it's really cool and would love to host guests in my city and show them around. I'm a rather extroverted guy, very hospitable, welcoming and passionate. I've always been very interested in history, which is why I can provide a lot of facts about Frankfurt, Germany and Europe on the tour. However, as the son of refugees, I can also offer interesting insights and a different perspective into Germany's most diverse city. I look forward to your visit in Frankfurt, see you soon!

Tour description

WELCOME TO FRANKFURT!
Frankfurt is a unique, complicated and often overlooked city and therefore it takes a powerful tour to truly understand the city.

On the guided visit we look up at modern skyscrapers and travel through time viewing the medieval old town. We talk about the different cultural influences that make our city so colorful and how they affect society.

We learn how Frankfurt connects and changes the world, from Germany's largest airport to the European Central Bank, but also how this city has always been a center for literature, from Goethe and the annual book fair to Frankfurt as the center of German hip-hop.

To get to know the real Frankfurt, however, one must also discuss Frankfurt's red light district and the train station district, which you may have already passed through when you arrived in the city.

All the main tourist destinations are visited on this tour, but also my personal insider tips that are often forgotten. These include, among others:

  • The Old Opera
  • The Goethe House
  • The small market hall
  • Paul's Church
  • The old town including Römerberg and Kaiserdom
  • The Iron Bridge
  • Willy Brandt Square
  • The station district

Thank you for your interest in my tour and I look forward to showing you around soon.

 :)

The tour was honestly the best Free Walking Tour experience that myself or my two friends who tagged along with me, ever had. (We did many of such tours before in other cities) The tour we chose was the one leading from the Alte Oper square to the "Iron Pier" bridge next to the "Old City" so if you want to have a tour focused on just the "Old City" you may be in the wrong tour, but for us it was perfect it gave a nice overview of what makes up the city of Frankfurt. We believe that our guide was very well informed and was able to answer to almost all questions in detail. He also switched very seamlessly between EN and DE with different questions coming from the group. Fully recommended!
