Free 2.5h walking tour - hidden architectural treasures of Munich

Duration: 2h and 30min
Languages: German, English, Spanish
Quality Verified Registered on June 06, 2023

As an architect living in Munich, I am happy to show you the hidden architectural treasures of my city. I've been on quite a few trips myself, including Chile, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Europe and the USA. In contact with local people, I have always come closest to the country. In my free time I like to climb and boulder. Born in Germany, I have Spanish roots and ancestors from Estonia - an international mix :) I speak fluent German, English and Spanish and also some French.

Tour description

We will discover hidden and unconventional places in Munich during a two and a half hour city walk.

We experience how the new folk theater connects past and present in the Schlachthofviertel and immerse ourselves in the lively and colorful world of railway guard Thiels. This dynamic event and cultural space is created from 40 shipping containers decorated with graffiti.

On our tour there is always the opportunity to take a drink or ice cream 'to go'.

We will also follow the fascinating transformation of a discarded excursion steamer into one of Munich's cultural highlights - the Alte Utting. It's not just the sunset and the newspaper article in the New York Times that are impressive here, but above all the story of how it came about.

The tour ends in 'Gans Woanders', one of the most extraordinary beer gardens in Munich, whose pizza and rosemary fries I can highly recommend.

Choose from the following languages: German, English or Spanish.

You are welcome to pay in cash or with Paypal at the end of the tour ;)
