I am a Singapore Tourism Board licensed guide who is passionate about flora, fauna, maritime, history and heritage. Starting as a wildlife guide at the iconic Jurong Bird Park, I moved on to be a VIP Guide/Trainer at Universal Studios Singapore and SEA Aquarium. In 2019 obtained my tour guiding license and my tours are meant to create memorable moments in Singapore - my home for all my guests.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens became a UNESCO world heritage site in 2015 when the nation celebrated its 50th birthday. It plays a key role in research, conservation and education.
The National Orchid Garden is a 3 hectare orchid paradise situated within the 82 hectare Singapore Botanic Gardens. Within the National Orchid Garden, there is a VIP Orchid section, where you see the orchids named after royalties, dignitaries and celebrities.
Take a walk through the Botanic Gardens and see the heritage trees, oldest living orchid in the world and maybe catch the sight of some wildlife like otters, swans and native birds.
Stroll through the Ginger garden and see spectacular heliconias and bananas.
At the National Orchid Gardens see some of the most spectacular species of orchids and also the amazing cultivars created to honour VIPs.
Ascend the Tropical Montane Orchidetum to experience the rich low to high elevation of a tropical montane forest with a huge diversity of rare, endangered orchids, bromeliads and other plants.

Meet your guide at the Tanglin Gate where the journey will begin to discover a tropical gem in the heart of the city. Some of the oldest trees dot this path with a beautiful lake dedicated to the mute swans.
See the exotic gingers, heliconias, bananas and related plants in the Zingiberaceae genus en route to the National Orchid Gardens and learn about the Garden's effort to conserve the gingers and their allies.
The National Orchid Garden is situated inside the Singapore Botanic Gardens and houses many exotic orchid species, VIP orchids named after royalties, foreign dignitaries and celebrities. Some of the highly endangered orchids and other plant species can be found here.
Apart from orchids, there are magnificent trees dedicated to world leaders along with Heritage Trees with some standing here since the 1800s. A collection of Frangipani trees, a bandstand, sculptures and the largest and oldest orchid can be found here.
On our way to the last stop stands a Heritage Museum which pays tribute to the garden's rich history. View the process of micropropagation at the Botany Centre where orchids and many other plants especially the endangered ones are propogated. The tour will end at the Tanglin Gate.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
