Well I did tourism and hospitality administration! So I am very passionate and enthusiastic in sharing the history of my country and all the hidden gem, I have been to lots of places in Uganda and traveled through East Africa. I started offering free walking tours in Kampala since 2017 , so I have enormous acquaintance about the Geo-political landscape of Uganda.

About the tour

Join the most popular free walking tours in Kampala every day at 10:00Am or 2:00Pm, done by our competent local guides and tip what you can afford after the end of the tour .

Our walking tour is very unique and it gives you the opportunity to observe Kampala on a local perspective and from a clear point of view.

So we visit the top unique places in and around Kampala our first part covers places which don't require entrance fee as listed below.

1.Makerere university

2.Katanga slums.

3.East African craft Market

4.World war memorial monument

5. Independence monument.

6.Sir Edward Muteesa Monument

7.Nakasero food and spice Market.

8. Hindu temple

9. Old taxi park

10. Fabric shops

11.Owino daily market .

12.Namirembe cathedral.

Lunch break and then proceed with the second part of the tour,

It's a four hours trip starts from

10:00Am and 2pm depending on the availability of our clients and our meeting point is Makerere university main gate .

So the second part includes visiting places which require entrance fee namely

1.Gaddafi National mosque

2. Kasubi tombs.

3. King's palace Mengo.

And it takes three hours we just continue after the first part.

Day 2 we explore places out side Kampala,

1. National Museum

2. Bahai Temple

3.Ndere cultural center.

4. Namugongo martyr shrines

5. Gaba Beach.

You're also advised to carry some money for buying your souvenirs and lunch because we explore the biggest craft market in Kampala and I as well take you to a Local Restaurant with typical Ugandan food.

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give €10 per person, some people give US‎$ 50, you choose the price.

I have been on quite a few walking tours around the world and this one was the most indepth and enjoyable one yet. Steve is a very welcoming and knowledgeable. He takes him time and looks out for you navigate through the busy markets. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's visiting or wants to know more about the city.

Really great tour. Steve is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot! He moved at my pace and was happy to answer questions. This tour has a great variety and really gives you a varied insight into Kampala! Highly recommended!

Great intimate tour of the city. Just could've used a bit slower pace crossing Kampala's streets. I was left behind a couple times. Nonetheless learned a lot and enjoyed the sites we visited
