Denver Walking Tours (DWT) was founded by Jill and Matt in early 2015. Jill (a Sconie) and Matt (a Kiwi) met while both were living in Sydney, Australia about fourteen years ago, and spent the next decade traveling around the world to 47 countries, whenever they had the chance, around their full-time jobs. "We believe that everyone should have access to a great walking tour experience, regardless of budget, which is why we launched Denver Walking Tours as a tour guide cooperative, offering high-quality, interactive, free walking tours and low-cost, paid walking tours as a way to have some fun, work with amazing people, and share the great sights, landmarks, and history that make our Mile High City so unique with both locals and people from all over the world! We live in downtown Denver, love the city, and only wished there was a free walking tour available back when we moved to beautiful Colorado years ago to give us the scoop on all the great sights, history, culture, and fun places to check out around town. We've surrounded ourselves with a team of amazing guides who are just as passionate and knowledgeable about Denver and the history, architecture, and landmarks that make Denver our home."
Our tour cover Denver's 13 top sights and landmarks. We love sharing all of the history that makes this city so unique, as we take you through downtown Denver on this great two hour walking tour of the city.
This Denver Free Walking Tour includes iconic places in the Mile High City like:
-The Colorado State Capitol
-State Capitol Building
- Civic Center Park
- Public Library
- Denver Art Museum
- City and County Building
- U.S. Mint
- Convention Center
- Performing Arts Complex
- Larimer Square
- 16th Street Mall
- Union Station
Denver Walking Tours does not charge for any of our free walking tours - we operate on a "pay-what-you-like" tipping model. We think that you should decide how much you consider your tour was worth when your it is finished.
With your tour guide (Blaine, Jill, Marty, Laura, Renata, Cami, Dick, Alyce, or Janine depending on the day you join us) working for gratuities only, you know they are going to go the extra mile to make sure that you have a GREAT tour, enjoy your experience, learn something new, answer any questions you have, and give local recommendations. If you enjoyed your tour, just tip your amazing guide what you feel their time and work was worth to you! We look forward to hosting you!
Our guide will be in front of the Colorado Soldiers Monument wearing a neon yellow "Denver Walking Tours" shirt, or, in bad weather, carrying a small green "Denver Walking Tours" sign
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
