Great to meet you, My name is Ben. My brother Peter, and I are founders of a Local Guide Team with our co-hosts Daniel, Emmei, Hani, and more in Ho Chi Minh City. We first discovered Saigon while studying at University after leaving our hometown in rural Vietnam. We immediately became fascinated by the city's unique blend of culture, history, and delicious cuisine. Our education focused on tourism, and I have extensive experience working as a local English-speaking tour guide for various companies. But, We finally decided it was time to bring our custom-tailored experiences to my guests, so we're starting this local experience. We are so grateful to our guests who have supported us by booking our experiences so that we can generate jobs for local guides from rural areas of Vietnam studying in Ho Chi Minh City. It is to help them earn money to make their parents feel less burdened financially and to have a tourism and English environment to practice during their studies at their tourism university. Hop on the back of our motorbikes like the locals. Following me, you’ll see how the city changes across its districts from the well-to-do area to the local vibes area, from outdoor markets and tiny alleyways. In this experience, you have excellent knowledge of history and taste the local drinks and food, and it is great for chatting about Vietnamese culture with us.

This is itinerary:
1. I provide a deep dive into the history of some of Saigon’s most famous locations with historical photos through the whole story behind such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Independent Palace, and The Burning Monk Memorial
2. Next locations, discover some local points that are off the beaten path. Catching your breath by drinking a cup of Vietnamese coffee. Visiting the complex old apartments and explore local life here.
3. Visiting flower and outdoor markets, you will learn some Vietnamese words for fun to practice bargaining prices with vendors and sample some fruits (morning slot) and local drinks - a shot of local rice wine or sugar cane juice. For the food menu, you will choose broken rice with BBQ pork or noodle soup
4. In Chinatown, you will be blessed with one of the oldest and most fascinating TEMPLES and zipping around through the buzzing Silk Street and Lanterns Street of this colorful, incredible Chinatown.
This tour is operated by SCOOTERS, so I have trained my co-guides to help me, each tour guide will drive each guest and you guys just sit behind of our scooters. Therefore, I need at least a few hours to arrange the scooters, after you book the tour successfully, can you please send me the message to confirm that you will join the tour. If you would text me close to the starting time, I could not arrange the scooter in time for you.
The RENTED SCOOTER FEE is 8$ = 200 000 VND, please pay it for yourself.

Because the tour is by SCOOTER, so we can pick you up at your hotel address as long as it is in a central area like districts 1, 3, or 4. Otherwise, we will meet at the meeting place, Saigon Opera House. After you book, please send us your hotel address to pick you up.

For the food menu, you will choose broken rice with BBQ pork or noodle soup

5. We will get on the scooter and drive you around Chinatown. Next, we will drive you along the Saigon River to see the amazing views of the city. And then we will drop you off at your hotel.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
