Duration: 1h and 30min

Hello, I'm Alex and I've been living "on horseback" for 25 years between two cities: Sagunto and Madrid. I have 20 years of experience in the tourism sector and I am a lover of Ancient, Medieval and Modern History. In the free walking tour of Sagunto we will review more than 20 centuries of history, religion, customs and you will have the opportunity to be in places that existed before the year 0 where old streets still exist, such as "Los Escipiones" and "Heroes" , they maintain their original name. Sagunto is a fabulous place and you will not be indifferent because it is a visit that begins at an altitude of 25 meters and reaches 170 meters with views of 30 nautical miles of the Mediterranean Sea, something unusual in a city tour of less than 2 hours. The city has been very well connected for more than 2000 years, so we bet that you will return to its monuments, beaches and gastronomy. I will recommend extra important things that you can do in the surroundings and suggest where to taste Mediterranean, Sephardic or Arab dishes as well as curious aspects of the city. At the end of a tour under my charge I will give you an intangible present from the oldest history of Arse. Welcome and thank you for your choice. ------- In the visit to the Prado, however, we will have a tour - always in groups of up to 5 people in order to achieve exclusivity - among the most important works of Hieronymus Bosch, a collection that Philip II accumulated since his visit as a young The empire that his father dominated was enthralled by the artist's work. It is said that Felipe II died in El Escorial with Bosco's most emblematic work in view and that we will see in detail on the tour: "The Garden of Earthly Delights" THANK YOU FOR YOUR CHOICE.

Tour description

Sagunto is a city of Edetana origin (A.R.S.E since the 5th century BC) of alternation and coexistence of Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, and Arabs living with Jews and Christians.
During the Roman period, it took the name Saguntum and during the Arab occupation, it was known as Morvedre or Murviedro. Since the 19th century, the name of Sagunto (Sagunt in Valencian) has been used until the present day.
Place of beginning in 218 BC of the Second Punic War between the Carthaginians under the command of Hannibal and the Iberian population allied to Rome. Its beautiful theater and its spectacular and important castle do not leave any visitor indifferent with magnificent views in Hercules´tower (more than 30 miles and almost 360 degrees - no to much city tours with these kind of views in the World -.)
Scene of military sites, battles, and conflicts even before the year 0, in the Reconquista, Napoleonic Invasion, and Spanish Civil War, it is a comfortable city where in just 2 hours on foot you can learn about its history and legends safely after this tour return to this well-connected and beautiful city at any time of the year, as its beaches and typical dishes are ranked as the best in Europe.

Welcome!
