My name is María, I am an official guide of the Canary Islands and I belong to the heritage interpretation association. My visits are open to your participation, my goal is to put the focus on relevant places, so that you can connect with the place and take away your own impressions.
The visit focuses on the path to the Ajuy caves , which runs through where the seabed was.
The stones on the road tell how Fuerteventura was born, grew and its population survived thanks to them.
It is a journey through key moments in the island's past, where you will discover why the path is as important as the destination.
You will find me on the beach, next to the public bathrooms that are between the Cuevas de Ajuy and La Cage de Oro restaurants. You will be able to recognize me through the guide card that I wear hanging around my neck.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
