Walking through Segorbe, between its history and its culture

Duration: 2h and 30min
Languages: Spanish
Registered on March 23, 2024

Hello, I'm Jose Ángel Planillo: I have been working in the tourism sector since 1997, when I began to work as a Tourist Guide for some private companies on a temporary basis. Upon discovering my vocation in this sector, I decided to train myself academically and with other non-regulated courses, obtaining the title of Higher Technician in Tourism Information and Marketing, the qualification of Official Tourism Guide, or the title of Trails Technician. Since then, I have carried out activities in this sector in hotels, giving classes and conferences in various courses and training programs; conducting guided tours for different organizations, companies and individuals; as a tourist informant in Tourist Offices; and even creating digital Gymkhanas. I also research and publish works on the tourist resources in my environment, which are sometimes a perfect souvenir so that my clients always leave with the feeling of having discovered something new and are left wanting to delve into more corners of these lands bathed by the river. Palancia, halfway between the provinces of Castellón and Valencia. Do you dare to meet them with me?

Tour description

The city of Segorbe, episcopal and ducal, cradle of art and history, contains in its urban center the passage of the many cultures that have passed through it over time.

Towers, medieval portals, walls, churches and hermitages, aqueducts are common neighbors when walking through the narrow and labyrinthine streets of the old town. People from three cultures lived there: Muslims, Jews and Christians, each of them leaving their mark.

Furthermore, the fertile plain that surrounds it, and the strategic position that the city occupies, complement its entire historical legacy with another landscape, being surrounded by the natural parks of Espadán and Calderona.

 A jewel for the senses.
