Marta was tremendous. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were perfect for the tour. We ended up having her all to ourselves and it was a treat. The tour through the Albaicin, views of the Alhambra, and a little special visit to a “Carmen”, a garden home. Really fun. Highly recommend.

Miguel was a great guide for my family and me, and used a booklet with photos and key words to help supplement his verbal explanations. We appreciated that we stopped for a coffee and bathroom break halfway through, and he also provided recommendations for places to eat!
Free tour of the essentials of Granada

Granada is the perfect destination for a city break. It is located in Andalusia, in the south of Spain, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The city has a rich history and offers many interesting attractions, such as its famous Alhambra Palace and the Generalife Gardens.
The Alhambra Palace is one of Spain's most emblematic monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was originally built by Moorish rulers as a fortress, but the Spanish monarchs renovated it extensively in the 16th century. Today, it is one of Spain's main tourist attractions with more than 2 million visitors a year.
But apart from the obvious, the city of Granada has a number of Legends to impress its visitors. To make sure you don't miss out on these great stories, there's nothing better than a professional guide on one of the Granada Legends Free Tours like the ones we offer here at GuruWalk.
The city of Granada is not only known for its impressive Alhambra, but also for its rich history and cultural heritage.
The city was established in 1489 by the Moors, who were Muslims from North Africa. The Moors ruled Granada for over 600 years before the Christian Reconquest in 1492.
Granada was an Arab kingdom until the late 15th century, when it became part of Spain and Christendom. It is still a very important region with many cultural events worth visiting.
The Albaicín quarter of Granada, in the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula, has a rich history. It is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in all of Spain and has been home to people since Roman times. It is also famous for being the site of one of the most brutal punishments ever administered by the Inquisition.
In 1482, a group of Moriscos (Spanish Muslims) were condemned to death for not converting to Christianity. They were executed by burning them alive at a bonfire on a hilltop in front of their former school and homes. The place where they were executed became known as Captives' Walk or "Captives' Road".
This is one of the legendary stories you can enjoy on our Free Tours of Granada and its Legends.
