Do you want to know the most important places and the secrets hidden in the historic center of Alcalá de Henares?
I give you a short tour with the basics of the historic center of Alcalá de Henares, with an affordable itinerary that only stops at places that do not slow down the pace of the tour, full of verified historical information, anecdotes and curiosities at each stop. In this way, you will be able to take away a lot of concentrated information in a short time that will give you an idea of the history and heritage of the city, seeing curiosities and obtaining information that without a guide you would overlook, knowing the history behind the city without embellishments or inventions that distort history to try to impress the tourist.
The experience I have is that tours that are too long and have many stops, the information is more diluted, especially in the stops that require a long time to be traveled or that can practically be appreciated without a guide and have limited information in terms of anecdotes and curiosities regarding the time they require to be traveled, which can bore someone who is not an expert in the subject or give them the sensation of taking a walk. I know that some users appreciate each extra stop and added information, but I must try to reach all people and adapt to the pace of life and desire for concentrated and instant information that is demanded. That's why I decided to give the tour a change of pace for 2024 with these guidelines:
• To obtain this tour full of information, dynamic and more enjoyable, it has been decided to reduce its duration and sacrifice some stops in the itinerary in the new 2024 tour. Some of the indoor stops such as the Archaeological Museum or the cathedral that require a lot time to enter or the long walk through the remains of the medieval wall that, knowing its location, can be appreciated without a guide, etc. Therefore, it is essential that you review the itinerary before booking the tour in case there are any missing points that are essential for you. (If for whatever reason you come in a group and no one else comes or you all agree that you want to see something like the Archaeological Museum or the Cathedral that is currently out of the itinerary, I can guide you there anyway, in fact on my previous tour I had already removed the museum and I went in with some women who asked me without a problem)
In any case, during the journey from one point of the itinerary to another, you can answer questions and briefly explain the history of these points that are outside the itinerary as well as any other curiosity that arises (It is a very complete itinerary that will not leave you without see anything of the historic center of the city).
The official stops on the 2024 itinerary will be:
We meet at the Plaza Puerta de Madrid and we will stop at the Archbishop's Palace (exterior visit and its patio), Calle Mayor , Cervantes' birthplace (free entry, closed on Mondays), Plaza de Cervantes and the University of Alcalá , ( free entry to the interior patios, except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays which are reserved only for authorized guides in guides reserved by the university, the interior of the Paraninfo is not shown either). The passage areas between points will also be lightly treated, answering questions and curiosities as much as possible.
I show you the city as a free native tour guide of the city, a wide connoisseur of the city and history, authorized for now only for small group reservations of up to 5 adults (children can be added, since they do not occupy a place) more the people who decide to join during the tour or while we wait at the starting point for everyone to be there. My tours are small, close and welcoming, where the goal is to do everything to have a great time seeing the city, learning its real history and curiosities with a positive attitude.
In addition to telling the story of the itinerary, I am willing to take photos, tell you where the restaurants are, etc.
Finally, thank you for choosing my tour, prepare to enjoy your day in Alcalá and remind you:
• On free tours we make a living from the tips of the people we guide. That means we can obtain the mutual benefit of freetours existing.
• If you feel that the tour is not what you expected, you are not obliged to see it in its entirety, you can abandon it at any time without paying anything. You see what you want and pay what you want.
• Try to be fair and responsible with your reviews and not gratuitously harm the work of the guide and/or other users who could choose the tour.
• Positive comments after the tour are appreciated, they help me grow and give other users the opportunity to learn about the tour.
