Hiking excursion through the "Los Cerros" natural park in Alcalá de Henares to the ruins of the Alcalá la Vieja castle located in the mountain.
Alcalá la Vieja comes from Al Qalat (Alcalá) which means fortress and La Vieja because of the ruinous state in which it is located and refers to the battered remains of Qalat Abd-Al Salam (fortress of Abd-Al Salam) an Arab fortress dating back to the 10th century, in the times of Al-Andalus and Muslim Spain.
